Video Viewing Requirements

  Teacher: Mr. Phenicie
Grade 7
Periods 1 and 2 Social Studies

Mr. Phenicie's seventh-grade Language Arts, Social Studies students worked in pairs and chose either a historical event, historical biography, or important accomplishment from a particular period. Some students selected poetry and focused upon the language arts aspect of the curriculum.

By examining their topic in depth, each group first wrote scripts, and then used technology resources to find relevant materials, create a storyboard, incorporate transitions and special effects and integrate music to create a short compelling film. In the preparation, development and presentations of their video projects, the students addressed multiple California state standards in both language arts, such as developing language strategies, conducting oral presentations, and integrating technology, and social studies, such as in-depth presentation of specific historical topics.
