| Ms. Leong's mostly intermediate level ELL students were never more excited or motivated than when they were working on their movies. The digital storytelling project allowed for students of all levels of English proficiency to improve their skills and be successful.
The students collected information by taking notes from various sources, finding images, and taking digital pictures of classmates and family members. They practiced writing strategies and applications, such as writing sequential sentences, to short paragraphs, to expository composition. Ms. Leong's students developed a clearpurpose in their writings and had the chance to experience narrating and making themselves understood in consistent standard English.
