Teacher: Mr. Fong
Grade 7, Period 3

Mr. Fong's seventh-grade science students explored the structure and function of various organisms of the earth. Workshop participants used the writing process to document their research and gathered images to illustrate their projects. Collaborating in small teams, they recited their scripts for voiceovers and assembled short digital films, arranging their selected imagery and working with title slides, transitions, and special effects.

In addition to creating an engaging, cooperative environment for considering and presenting scientific information, the workshop activities addressed many seventh-grade science standards related to the understanding of cellular genetic makeup and the way the complementary nature of structure and function is illustrated in the anatomy and physiology of plants and animals.
