Teacher: Mr. Marthaler
Grade 5

Wind, water, and weather shape our lives every day. Fifth-graders at Pacheco Elementary studied these topics in depth and gained a better understanding of how each affects the lives of people around the world.

Pacheco's dual immersion program offers students opportunities to learn about each other, the world, and the subjects required by California State Standards, both in English and Spanish. Throughout the Wind, Water, and Weather unit, Mr. Marthaler's students engaged in experimentation, cooperative learning, text research, and many other activities. To create final artifacts, student teams worked together over a five-day period to produce digital films on many of the unit's key topics.
