Teacher: Mrs. Dexter
Grades 4 & 5

Fourth-grade and fifth-grade students at Baywood Elementary participated in a science and literature unit based on California standards in science and language arts. The unit involved reading and analysis of nonfiction materials, note-taking, source citation, technologically based research, collaboration, communication, and decision-making. To culminate the unit, groups of students worked together to produce digital documentaries on high-interest science topics surrounding natural disasters.
