During the 2005-2006 school year, Middle-school and high-school students across the Oakland Unified School District participated in Mobile Learning Institute programs that delivered technology-focused residencies to their classrooms. These educational programs gave students the opportunity to share their ideas about their communities, their ideas of America, and their and their own personal histories. Just as important, the programs made it possible for young people to work together to develop life skills, share interests, and present their ideas.
