| With the help of Mr. Sheridan, sixth-graders had "the eye of the tiger" as
they "cast their shadows" on the Utah wilderness in an end-of-year trip.
Once they returned to school, students worked in groups to capture the
adventure in digital stories. First, they wrote poetic scripts that
sometimes described their travels in concrete detail and at other times used
the concept of hiking as a metaphor for their path to college. Then, by
combining their voiceovers with photographic images, titles, and effects,
the students created stories that are as vivid as Utah's landscape.
