Teacher: Ms. Stephens
Period 2

In Irving ISD, the humanities curriculum revolves around a different theme each semester. This semester’s theme is “Patterns." Students investigated patterns through time in both history and thought.

In looking at patterns in different places, we studied the five major world religions to see the commonalities in not only what they believe, but also in the effect they have on the regions in which they are mainly practiced.  My students made films on different religions, and answered questions in their research that linked to these patterns.

The sixth graders of the second period focused primarily on the religions of Asia, with one group tackling the art of the Renaissance.
