| In Irving ISD, the humanities curriculum revolves around a different theme each semester. This semester’s theme is “Patterns.” Students looked at patterns through time in both history and thought.
In looking at patterns in different places, students studied creation stories from many of the world's religions. In response to what students discovered, they wrote, produced and performed their own creation stories. These were filmed and are featured in two websites that also include summaries of several creation stories, an interview session where students identify commonalities between stories from different cultures, and the steps they took to plan and produce their own creation stories.
