Teacher: Ms. Lee
Second Grade

Ms. Lee's second-grade students chose animals as their topic for the annual Park Day School Science Night presentations. In addition to creating reports and habitat dioramas, this year the second-graders completed a digital storytelling workshop that integrated technology with science and language arts. The multimedia activity prompted students to explore and exchange ideas in new ways and provided Ms. Lee with additional opportunities to support the various learning styles and developmental levels in the classroom.

The one-week immersion and the preparation work that preceded it addressed a number of California State Standards, including reading comprehension, writing, research, listening, and speaking, as well as the California Technology Education Standard 2 for Communication, in which students use a variety of different processes and media to communicate a message.
